The Robusta Difference
The Sylvester palm — Phoenix Sylvestris Robusta — is a cold-hardy, field-grown date palm, also called the India date palm or silver date palm, prized for its thick, diamond-patterned trunk and full silver-green crown. Our farm grows exclusively the Robusta variety, which stands apart from regular sylvestris in three ways: larger caliper trunks, more pronounced silver frond color, and larger, fuller heads.
Every palm on our farm is field-grown right here in Vero Beach, Florida, giving it the root structure and trunk density that container-grown palms simply don’t develop.
